About

With a preoccupation with her inward journey through life, Bryony captures lyrical themes of curiosity, fragility, sadness and desire in her songwriting. Documenting vulnerability in her diary-like songwriting, Bryony flirts with themes on personal growth, relationships, mental health, and travel, and continues to carve a name out for herself in the UK indie scene.

Whilst independently releasing her music, studying, and starting up her own DIY music magazine, Grrrl Groannn, with the aim to make the local indie scene more gender-balanced, Bryony became Birmingham’s sad-girl-indie opener for touring acts (Liz Lawrence, Peaness, Hazel English, isaac gracie, A.A. Williams, and The Goon Sax) and has been championed by BBC Introducing, 6 Music, and Amazing Radio.

“Fans of other contemporary storytellers such as Courtney Barnett and Declan McKenna may well find a home for this brilliant collection”.
- Charlie Ashcroft, Record Collector Magazine.

Following her first UK tour, the band, James, hand-picked Bryony out of hundreds of artists to perform at their Arena Tour warm-up show in association with Wolves Records, as well as making the long-list to play at Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition and shortlisted for Greenman Rising and YNOT? festival. In 2022, Bryony composed two tracks to be featured in the BBC series, Phoenix Rise, while simultaneously writing and recording her debut album, You Are Here, which is now set for a 2024 independent release.
